An Apple Live Photo normally arrives as a still image plus a QuickTime motion file, so these pages classify and pair resources instead of pretending that every Live Photo is one upload. Available asset identifiers are compared before a combined preview or conversion, and a known mismatch is treated differently from a pair whose identifiers were stripped during export.
MP4 preserves normal motion and may retain audio, GIF creates a silent palette-based loop, and JPG keeps one still. The viewer changes nothing, while the frame extractor works on the video timeline. HEIC and HEVC support is feature-detected because still decoding and motion decoding have different browser compatibility boundaries.
