GIF is convenient for short looping previews, but it has a limited palette and no audio. This tool reads the Live Photo motion file, applies the selected frame rate and longest-edge limit, and builds a palette-based GIF locally.

Quality options control palette size and dithering rather than pretending GIF has a JPEG-style quality percentage. A shorter duration, lower FPS, and smaller resolution usually make a much more shareable file.

GIF generation samples the motion timeline at the selected frame rate, scales every frame to the chosen longest edge, and builds a shared color palette. Looping changes playback metadata rather than duplicating frames. Because frame count drives both work and file size, the tool caps duration and input size before loading the local encoder.

Can the GIF keep Live Photo sound?

No. The GIF format has no audio track. Use the MP4 converter when sound or normal video playback is important.

Why was my file rejected even though the extension looks correct?

The contents may be empty, corrupt, too large, or a different format that was renamed. Re-export the original file from its source app and try again.
