Privacy

Last updated: August 11, 2026

File Tools Now is designed to process supported files on your device. The current application has no file-upload API. A tool will state a limitation instead of transmitting a file to complete an unsupported operation.

Files and their contents

Selected files are read into browser memory, Web Workers, or local WebAssembly modules for the requested task. We do not intentionally transmit or store file bytes, filenames, metadata values, GPS coordinates, decoded QR content, or barcode values. Temporary object URLs are revoked when a result is reset or the page closes.

Camera and clipboard

Scanner pages ask for camera or clipboard permission only after you choose the corresponding action. Camera video remains in the browser and tracks are stopped when scanning closes. Clipboard access is used only to read an image you explicitly paste or select.

Analytics

The site prepares privacy-conscious events such as tool view, file selected, processing success, error category, and download clicked. Event payloads contain the utility slug and non-private operational fields such as item count or detected format. They do not contain names, coordinates, decoded values, metadata text, or pixels. Analytics is disabled unless a deployment explicitly enables a compatible provider.

Local storage and cookies

Core tools do not require an account or advertising cookie. A browser may keep ordinary cache data for application code and codec files. Future optional preferences or advertising must be documented here before activation.

Third-party maps and links

The GPS viewer does not automatically contact a map provider. QR URLs are shown before opening, and potentially unsafe protocols are never made into automatic navigation.
